This report, released jointly by COPD Canada and the Family Physicians Airway Group of Canada, highlights the under-reporting of flare-ups or “lung attacks” by patients. It also explores the gaps that exist between physicians and COPD patients that contribute to the under-reporting of “lung attacks,” and makes recommendations for how to improve COPD patient outcomes.  »

The Ontario Ministries of Health Promotion and Sport (MHPS) and Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) recently launched an initiative aimed to enhance cessation support to hospital patients with chronic diseases. As a first step, the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU), in partnership with the MHPS and MOHLTC, conducted a survey of Ontario hospitals to provide a snapshot of the current state of hospital-based smoking cessation services, practices and policies.  »
La Société canadienne du cancer a mis sur pied une nouvelle campagne numérique intitulée «Break It Off» afin de promouvoir le renoncement au tabagisme. Orchestrée par Téléassistance pour fumeurs, cette campagne vise les jeunes adultes de 19 à 24 ans, groupe qui affiche le plus haut taux de tabagisme au pays (22 %). «Break It Off» est disponible en anglais seulement à ce moment.  »
The Canadian Cancer Society has launched Break it Off, a new digital campaign to promote tobacco cessation. Led by Smokers’ Helpline, the campaign is aimed at young adults age 19 - 24, who have the highest smoking rate in the country (22%).  »
